Askon Syrup
ASKON syrup contains extract of following herbs
Glycyrrhiza glabra (Yastimadhu, Jethimadh) : It contains glycyrrhizin, which is having soothing and anti inflammatory properties hence it gives relief from bronchial itching.
Adhatoda vasica (Vasaka, Ardusi) : It contains vasicine alkaloid that is having Mucokinetic and Mucolytic properties hence it liquefies and expel out cough from the respiratory tract hence it is useful in wet cough.
Curcuma longa (Haridra, Haldar) : It contains curcuminoids which reduces pain and inflammation from the respiratory tract, and also lipo oxygenase inhibitory activity so gives relief from allergic bronchitis, asthmatic condition and dry cough.
Solanum xanthocarpum (Kantakari, Bhoringni) : It contains steroidal alkaloid called solasodin that is having excellent activity in cough and asthma.
Piper longum (pepper) : Piperine present in it inhibits enzyme Cytochrome P450 and increases bioavailability of other drugs.
Ocimum sanctum (Tulsi) : It contains various phenols and hence it shows very good anti bacterial activity. It also improves immunity.
Embelica officinalis (Amlaki, Amla) : It contains ascorbic acid which is the best anti oxidant. And in asthma level of oxidative radicals are present at high level hence it removes oxidants and gives relief in asthma.
Indications: Allergic bronchitis, Allergic asthma, Dry cough, Wet cough, Bronchial irritation and asthmatic conditions.
Dose
Adult: 10ml syrup three times a day.
Child: 5ml syrup three times a day
Advantage: Non sedative, Safe for child and pregnant women and shows result in approximately 10min.
